2008-09 Freshman Season

Indoor Track and Field – His personal-best finish of the season in the 400-meter dash came at the MAC Championships where he finished sixth in 49.79…top time in the 500-meter dash was a 1:06.82 at the Golden Flash Gala…finished the 60-meter dash in 7.01 at the Akron Dual for his top time of the season in the event.

Outdoor Track and Field – Posted the team’s second-best time of the season in the 100-meter dash at the Northeast Ohio Quad in 11.01…his 51.29-finish in the 400-meter dash at the Weems Baskin Relays was his personal best of the season…recorded a personal top time of 22.54 in the 200-meter dash at the Northeast Ohio Quad…member of the 4x100-meter relay team that finished fifth at the MAC Championships in 41.97.

Prior to Kent State

Two-time All-American selection at Cleveland Heights High School...also earned all-state honors twice...also a four-time honor roll recipient...competed at national competition for the Rebels in the 4x4 and 4x1 relays.

Born Sept. 29, 1989…son of Salim and Amand El-Halaby…majoring in nursing...enjoys playing the violin.
