Trent Stratton was promoted to his current position as Senior Associate Athletic Director in the summer of 2021. Stratton is responsible for Sports Medicine, Sports Performance and Student-Athlete Well-Being. Stratton also oversees the Equipment Staff.
Stratton is the sport administrator for Volleyball, Baseball and Men's and Women's Golf. Stratton has served as an Athletic Trainer for Men's Basketball, Football, and both Golfs as well as overseeing many of the other teams during his tenure at the university.
Prior to his start at Kent State University in 2002, Trent was an Athletic Trainer with the Kansas City Royals for five seasons, working his way up through the minor leagues and spending three seasons in Wichita, with the AA Wranglers. Trent gained experience in the off season at Bethel College, in North Newton, KS, as well as in outpatient rehab clinic in Florida.
Prior to the Royals, Trent served as the Athletic Trainer for USA Baseball in the summer of 1997. That team was comprised of mostly college freshmen and sophomores as they competed across the nation and in Japan and Spain.
Stratton earned his Master's degree at Kent State in 1998 and Bachelor's degree at Ball State in 1996.
Trent is married to Nicole (Hinton) and they have two daughters, Melina and Ava.
