2011 Senior Season Highlights
•Has appeared in all five of Kent State's meets so far this season, including twice in the all-around. She has competed on both the uneven bars and the floor exercise in every meet in addition to four appearances on the balance beam and two on the vault.
•Has recorded event average scores of 9.750 or better 11 times.
•Scored a 9.750 to place third on the uneven bars and totaled a season-best 9.775 on the floor exercise to take fourth as Kent State opened the season with a 194.775-193.125 win over Maryland (1/9).
•Finished in a five-way tie for second place on the uneven bars with a 9.000 in addition to tallying a 9.750 to finish in a three-way tie for fourth on the balance beam as Kent State tied Brigham Young with a 194.775 and bested George Washington and Wisconsin-Oshkosh at its home-away-from-home quad meet (1/21) at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland. Her balance beam score is tied for her best point total of the season in the event.
•Totaled her best finish in the all-around this season and helped Kent State total 194.675 points at the Michigan quad meet (1/29) as the Flashes topped Maryland and Illinois-Chicago and finished behind the host Wolverines. She finished third with 38.925 points while tying for fifth on the balance beam with a 9.750, tying for seventh on the floor exercise with a 9.775 and taking eighth on the uneven bars with a 9.825. Her balance beam and floor exercise scores matched her season bests.
•Came up big for the Flashes by tying for second on the uneven bars with a season-best 9.850 and tying for second on the floor exercise with a 9.775 as Kent State won its conference opener on the road at Bowling Green (2/6), 194.925-188.975. She also tied for third on the balance beam with a 9.750. Her scores on the floor exercise and on the balance beam matched her season bests while her uneven bars mark currently ranks sixth in the MAC.
2010 Junior Season Highlights
•Competed in every event in all 12 meets.
•Became the first Kent State gymnast to garner MAC Gymnast of the Year honors.
•Led Kent State with a scoring average of 38.942 in the all-around and 9.754 on the balance beam.
•Also recorded season averages of 9.765 on the vault, 9.638 on the uneven bars and 9.785 on the floor exercise.
•Recorded event scores of 9.750 or better a team-high 30 times, including nine times on both the vault and floor exercise, seven times on the balance beam and five times on the uneven bars.
•Posted 22 top-three finishes, including 19 first-place finishes. Won on the balance beam seven times -- including five straight wins, four times on the floor exercise, two times on both the uneven bars and on the vault and five times in the all-around -- including four straight wins.
•Won on the balance beam with a score of 9.825 to help the Golden Flashes defeat Eastern Michigan (1/22), 195.175-191.000.
•Took the all-around title with a combined score of 39.175 as Kent State topped George Washington (1/29), 193.950-188.600. She posted event victories on the balance beam (9.725) and on the floor exercise (9.850) as well as a second-place finish on the uneven bars (9.825). She garnered MAC Gymnast of the Week honors for her performance.
•Tied for second place on the balance beam (9.725) as the Flashes won at Central Michigan (2/13), 194.250-193.925.
•Matched her career best in the all-around with a 39.375 combined score -- which ranks ninth in school history -- as Kent State downed Northern Illinois (2/19), 194.575-192.775, and bested Rutgers, 194.575-187.925. She posted a career-high score of 9.900 on the floor exercise to win the event. She tied for first on the uneven bars with a season-best mark of 9.850. She also won on the balance beam (9.850) and tied for first on the vault (9.775). She garnered MAC Co-Gymnast of the Week recognition for her efforts.
•Posted her second-straight all-around triumph with a 39.100 score, recording a team season-high mark of 9.875 to win on the balance beam and help push the Flashes past Ball State (2/28), 194.500-193.150. She also won on the vault with a 9.825.
•Won the all-around for the third straight meet with a combined score of 39.275 against Kentucky (2/28) in addition to winning on the balance beam for the third straight meet, using her second straight 9.875 score to earn the event win.
•Earned her fourth straight first-place finish in the all-around, matching her career-high 39.375 score for a second time as Kent State defeated Bowling Green (3/14), 195.275-191.200. She also won on the balance beam for a fourth consecutive meet with her third 9.875 score in as many meets. She also posted a win on the floor exercise with a 9.850, tied for first on the uneven bars with a 9.800 and placed second on the vault with a 9.850. She received MAC Gymnast of the Week recognition for her performance.
•Ran her winning streak on the balance beam to five meets with a score of 9.850 as the Flashes won at Western Michigan (3/21) to clinch the MAC regular season title.
•Placed 12th in the all-around at the NCAA Morgantown Regional (4/10) with a score of 38.825).
2009 Sophomore Season Highlights
•Appeared in 12 meets, competing in every event in 10 of those meets.
•Recorded a season-high combined total of 39.375 to win the all-around against Western Michigan (3/15), the eighth-best total in school history. Also received season high scores on the uneven bars (9.875) and the balance beam (9.875) to finish first and second, respectively, in those events. The 9.875 mark on the uneven bars was the 10th-best in Kent State history.
•Won her first all-around title with a combined total of 39.000 at Bowling Green (2/7) and won her second a week later against Central Michigan and Maryland (2/15) with a total of 39.225. Also received a season-high score of 9.875 on the vault.
•Finished third in the Mid-American Conference with a regional qualifying score of 38.900 in the all-around, fifth in the MAC on the vault (9.825) and uneven bars (9.780) and seventh on the balance beam (9.735). She had the 12th-highest RQS in the all-around in the Central Region.
2008 Freshman Season Highlights
•Competed in all 11 meets on the vault, three meets on the floor exercise and two meet on the uneven bars.
•After a 9.525 in her first vault of the season, she earned a score of 9.700 or better in the final 10 meets.
•Posted a season-high on the vault with a score of 9.800 three times this season, against George Washington (2/8), at the Sweetheart Invitational (2/16) and against Eastern Michigan (3/21).
•Finished the season ranked 10th in the conference on the vault with an RQS of 9.765.
•Set a season-high 9.775 on floor against Bowling Green (2/29).
•Received a season-high 9.675 on bars at Western Michigan (3/16).
Prior to Kent State
•Member of the Brecksville-Broadview Heights gymnastics team which won state championships from 2004-07.
•Named to the all-state and all-district teams her freshman and sophomore seasons.
•Also a member of Gymnastics World Ohio.
•Earned the Level 10 beam state championship in 2007.
•Was also a Level 10 bars state champion.
•Earned the 2005 state championship on the floor exercises.

•Born Dec. 19, 1988.
•Daughter of Malek Abou-Mitri. Has two sisters and a brother.
•Volunteered for Riversweep, which helped to clean up the Cuyahoga River.
•Majoring in justice studies.
