2008-09: Finished 2-2 at the NCAA Championships, one win away from All-American status...lost to 12th-seeded Steve Bell of Maryland in the round of 12 3-2...Won his first MAC title in convincing fashion to be named the MAC Championships Wrestler of the Tournament...finished the season with a 23-8 record and 4-1 MAC record...won nine of his last 11 matches...recorded one fall, two technical fallad and three major decisions on the season...finished second at the Oklahoma Gold and at the Body Bar before a fourth-place finish at the Southern Scuffle.
2007-08: Given an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships for the second straight year...finished with a 30-9 record during the year...won tournament titles in each of the first two weeks of the season en route to an 8-0 mark in the season’s first month...this included a 9-7 win in the Body Bar final over 2nd-ranked Mike Grey of Cornell...named the MAC Wrestler of the Week Nov. 12...started the season with a 15-0 record....wrestled 36 total matches in the regular season, half of which came against men who qualified for nationals...finished as an All-American at the FILA Cadet Nationals at Akron...advanced to the championship semi-finals before falling to eventual champion Daniel Dennis of Iowa.
2006-07: Qualified for the NCAA Tournament at 133 where he went 2-2...started out the year at 125 before making a move up to 133...posted a record of 22-15 with one pin and four major decisions...placed fifth at the Oklahoma Gold at 125 and went 3-1 at the MAC Tournament to earn a second place finish and a wild card to the NCAA Tournament...went 11-6 in dual meet action, including a 4-1 MAC duals record... received MAC Wrestler of the Week honors one time during the year as well as Kent State Athlete of the Week.
2005-06: Was redshirted and wrestled unattached...posted an 18-8 record with four major decisions, two technical falls and one pin...took first place at Cleveland State Open with 5-0 mark at 133...placed second at Ashland Open with 4-1 record.
Prior to Kent State: Was a three-time state qualifier while at Elyria High School, winning a state title as a senior...also reached the state tournament as a freshman and sophomore...had a career record of 123-13, including a 38-1 mark as a senior...was 81-9 his first two years...helped Pioneers to seventh place finish at state meet in 2005... was coached by Erik Burnett.
