
Kent State Wrestling Welcomes In New Faces For 2025-2026 Season

Kent, Ohio– The Kent State Wrestling program added 17 new faces to the roster in the most recent signing period. That group includes 12 from the transfer portal that join the new staff of Head Coach Josh Moore and assistant coaches Fred Garcia and Devin Schroder.
The 141-pound redshirt junior from Dublin, Ohio joins the team from a power-four program in the University of Nebraska. He accumulated a record of 11-7 in his time in Lincoln, while qualifying for the Ohio State Wrestling Tournament four times in high school.
The 149 pounder comes from George Mason University where he compiled a record of 20-10. The Uniontown, Ohio native wrestled at Western Reserve Academy, won NHSCAs, and won the gold award for all athletes in the school. He wants to be remembered by someone who leads by example and leaves everything he has on the mat.
The 165-pound redshirt freshman from Powell, Ohio comes in as a transfer from Cleveland State University where produced a 4-1 record in his first year on campus. In high school, he had a record of 91-25 at Olentangy Liberty and was a Two-Time State Qualifier and D1 State-Finalist.
Also a transfer from Cleveland State, the 184-pounder comes into the program as a redshirt junior from Canton, Ohio. With the Vikings, Dimmerling placed third in the Kent State Open last year. At GlenOak High School, he recorded 183 wins and 109 pins, while placing twice in the Ohio state tournament.
The 184-pounder comes in as a transfer from Cleveland State as a redshirt freshman. He was a three-time Ohio State placer as well as a state runner-up at Woodridge High School.
Duncan comes in as a redshirt sophomore from Southington, Ohio. The Cleveland State transfer will wrestle at 141 pounds this season and was a two-time state runner-up in high school at Chalker.
Chris Earnest
The 157-pound junior found success in his first two years at Campbell University in North Carolina. The Wadsworth, Ohio native compiled a 39-21 record with the Camels, reaching the championship match in the Southern Conference Championships before falling to the top seed last year. His freshman season, he finished 17-10 while earning a nod to the Conference All-Freshman team. He was an Ohio State Champion in 2022 and a runner-up in 2023.
The redshirt sophomore from Minerva, Ohio will wrestle at 285 pounds this year coming in as a transfer from Cleveland State. At CSU, Haines won the JCU Open in his class a year ago while also qualifying for the state championships twice at Minerva.
Higley comes in as a 197-pound freshman from Towanda, PA where he compiled a record of 151-32; including a 48-2 record in his senior season where he took home a regional title. He also placed fifth in state championships with the Black Knights.
Hoelscher comes in as a 285-pound freshman from the Charlotte area. He was a team captain and three-time state qualifier and one-time state placer in high school at Indian Land High School.
Nick Molchak
The redshirt junior and Solon, Ohio native comes in as a transfer from Cleveland State where he produced a 51-33 record in his first three seasons. Last season, he placed sixth at the MAC Championships at 133 pounds, where he will wrestle at this season as well. He wants to be remembered as a wrestler who was exciting and was always entertaining to watch.
The 125-pound redshirt freshman from Rome, Ohio comes in as another transfer from Cleveland State where he recorded four falls in his freshman season. Before CSU, he was a two-time state runner-up at Lake Catholic High School.
Comes in at 125 pounds, a transfer from Cleveland State, who unfortunately dealt with injuries in his first two seasons. In High School at Firelands, he earned 153 wins while placing third at the state championships. He wants to prove that even though you might experience adversity in your sport you should never give up on your dream.
The 174-pound freshman comes in from Burgoon, Ohio, where he took home a 2025 Ohio State Championship at Lakota High School. He also placed at the state championships two other times where he took him 4th and 2nd in sophomore and junior seasons.
Sarabia joins the Golden Flashes as a 133-pounder from Toledo, Ohio. He was a two-time state qualifier at Whitmer High School. He hopes to constantly progress forward during his time at Kent State.
The 157-pound redshirt freshman posted an 11-9 record in his first year in collegiate wrestling at Cleveland State. The Barnesville, Ohio native was a 2-time state wrestling champion and a three-time placer in high school.
Stits begins his college wrestling career as a freshman in the 157-pound class. The Greenwood, Indiana native was a Junior Fargo All-American in high school and was a two-time placer in the Indiana State Wrestling Tournament. He posted a record of 135-32 at Center Grove.
