Christopher Tangen, DO, is a specialist in sports medicine and is board certified in Family Medicine with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine.
Dr. Tangen earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. While at Miami University, he was a starter for the varsity wrestling team. He then earned his degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University. He completed a family medicine residency at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and a fellowship in primary care sports medicine at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Tangen is the lead medical team physician at Kent State University, associate medical team physician with the Cleveland Browns, and head team physician for Bedford High School, Charles F. Brush High School, and Richmond Heights High School.
He also serves as the program director for the traditional rotating internship at UH Regional Hospitals.
