Jim Kaufman joined the Golden Flashes in June of 2022 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance.
Kaufman comes to Kent State from Charleston Southern University where he had served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance from 2020-22. He also had stops at Urbana University and Thiel College working in compliance as well as sports information. Before getting into college athletics, Kaufman worked as a contract professional and lead buyer at Bechtel Plant Machinery.
The Pittsburgh native graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Marketing in 2015. He ran track and field at UPJ and was a 2x PSAC Scholar Athlete. He also earned a Master of Science in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration from California University of Pennsylvania in 2018.
