Moses was a Kent international student from Northern Rhodesia which, in 1964, became known as Zambia. Diminutive in stature at only 5โ6โ and 130 lbs., Moses was large in his soccer skills.
For the Kent Club teams of 1963 and 1964, Moses played either at Forward or at Midfield as needed by the team. With Menโs Soccer gaining Varsity status for 1965, Moses moved to a Back position where his skills dominated in that role. He was recognized as OCSA All-Ohio on the Second Team and was named the Outstanding Defensive Player in the Kent Team Awards.
As a Senior in 1966, Moses was voted a Co-Captain. He then exceeded the excellence of his Junior year to be selected OCSA All-Ohio First Team at a Back position. For the Kent Team Awards, Moses was the Most Valuable Player. The 1966 Post-Season featured the First Annual Tri-State Indoor Soccer Tournament which was held in Youngstown, OH. Kent participated and fielded a team that included Moses. He again shined and was named a Tournament All-Star. Honors continued for Moses when the Kent Health & Physical Education Department selected him for their Sports Services Award as the Outstanding Senior Athlete of the 1966-67 school year. Following his years on the pitch where he earned two Varsity letters, Moses continued his Studies at Kent as a Graduate Assistant in Romance Languages and Classics.
Moses became the first Menโs Soccer representative elected into the Kent Varsity K Athletic Hall of Fame with his induction in 1982. In addition, he was an obvious choice for the Kent Menโs Soccer All-Decade Team of the 1960s at a Midfield position when the honor was announced in 2020.
