KENT, Ohio – Kent State Dr. Paula Treckel Women's Golf head coach Casey VanDamme has announced the signing of Yaxuan "Vicky" Huang, an elite junior standout from Nanjing, China.
Huang arrives in Kent as one of the top young golfers in the world, currently ranked 519th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and second among all junior golfers in China. A member of the Chinese National Team, she has earned the National Elite Athlete of Golf award four times throughout her career.
The 2025 season served as a testament to Huang's exceptional talent, as she captured nine national golf tournament titles in China. Her international experience extends to the professional stage as well, having competed in the Blue Bay LPGA event in March.
"We are happy Vicky has decided to join our team," said VanDamme. "Vicky is an incredible student and has a great golf resume. Her determination, personality, and lofty goals will fit in well with our returning student-athletes. Go Flashes!"
Huang will join a Golden Flash program that has established itself as one of the nation's premier women's golf programs and is a 27-time MAC Champion.
