Jason Bake Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

Bake won both his matches at 149 pounds on Saturday, Dec. 11 as the Golden Flashes split a three-way dual meet against a pair of ranked foes, #24 Tennessee-Chattanooga and #15 Wisconsin. Both victories came against nationally-ranked individuals. Bake pinned UTCs Wayne French, ranked 18th by Wrestling International (W.I.N.) Magazine, in Kent States 21-16 victory over the Mocs. Despite the teams 29-12 loss to Wisconsin, Bake defeated the Badgers Craig Henning, the 13th ranked wrestler by W.I.N. (#15 by NWCA/Intermat), 4-2.
Bake has posted a 7-2 overall record to date this season, winning four of his last five matches to improve to 41-29 in his career.
The Golden Flashes (1-1) travel to Clarion University on Sunday, Dec. 19 to participate in the annual Clarion Duals.
