Mens, Womens Track Compete At The Akron Open And The Sea Ray Relays

At the Sea Ray Relays, the 4x100-meter relay team of junior Adrian Ghioroaie (Bucharest, Romania/UTEP), junior Pawel Dutkiewicz (Leszno, Poland/Higher School), freshman Marc Johnson (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown) and senior Otis Jordan (Detroit, Mich./Bishop Gallagher) placed eighth in 41.29 and sophomore Brent Shelby (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake) finished ninth in the shot put (52-7.50).
Winning the Golden Flashes only title at the Akron Open was freshman Nicole Brandstadter (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes) taking top honors in the javelin with a toss of 115-7.
On the track, junior Patricia Price (Pittsburgh, Pa./Schenley) placed third in the 100 meters (12.89), classmate Jessica Davis (Penllyn, Pa./Wissahickon) was third in the 400 meters (1:00.06) and sophomore Christelle Buholzer (Chardon, Ohio/Ohio State) finished third in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.43).
Leading the men was junior Tom Densevich (Austintown, Ohio/Fitch) who placed fifth in the hammer throw with a personal-best toss of 169-10.
Other top finishers for the men were freshmen sprinters Matt Bailey (Uniontown, Ohio/Lake) and Matt Kwiatkowski (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington), who each finished fourth in the 200 meters (22.68) and the 400 meters (50.44), respectively.
