Jack Williams Earns MAC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Kent State University redshirt freshman defensive back Jack Williams (Norfolk, Va./Booker T. Washington) was named the Mid-American Conference East Division Co-Defensive Player of the Week after his record setting debut at the University of Iowa on Saturday.
Making his first collegiate start, Williams had a school-record 99 yard interception return for a touchdown in the Golden Flashes' 39-7 season-opening loss. The return broke the second longest standing mark in Kent State history, Jay Littelpage's 97-yard runback in 1933.
Williams also was credited with three solo tackles and knocked away a pass.
Williams the shared weekly honor with the University of Buffalo's Aaron Sanders.
