To be eligible for an at-large berth for the national championship meet an athlete must finish in the top eight in an individual event or be a member of a relay team that finishes in the top six.
Despite finishing seventh in the 400-meter hurdles (1:01.06) at the Mid-East Regional Championships, Stokowska holds a personal-best time of 58.91, which ranks her 24th in the NCAA field.
The 4x100-meter relay team clocked a school-record 39.73 at the Mid-East regionals, placing sixth. The Kent State relay team was one of six to qualify out of the ultra-competitive Mid-East region for the 19-team field. Johnson also qualified as an at-large entrant in the 100 meters.
John Harper (discus), Mike Inge (800), Colleen Ramharak (triple jump), Jackie Rodgers (pole vault), Breann Smith (discus, shot put) and Julie Ward (javelin) also will compete at the outdoor meet after automatically qualifying at the regional meet.
