KENT STATE NOTES
• The Golden Flashes improved to 4-0 to start MAC play for the first time in their history... Previoulsly the Flashes were 3-0 to begin the 1973, 1977 and 1986.
• Kent State snapped a four-game losing streak to Toledo. It was the Golden Flashes' first victory over the Rockets since a 14-13 win in 1991.
• KSU won its fifth consecutive game, posting a five-game win streak in a single season for the first time since 1976... The Flashes actually closed that season with five straight wins then opened the 1977 with a victory for a six-game win streak... The current streak is just the ninth winning streak of five games or more in program history.
• Redshirt freshman running back Eugene Jarvis' 179 yards were the most by a Kent State running back since Charles Chatman rushed for 257 yards against Central Michigan Oct. 25, 1997... It was Jarvis' second 100-yard game of the season.
• Sophomore quarterback Julian Edelman rushed for a touchdown and passed for a touchdown for the fifth consecutive game, a feat that even Kent State-great Joshua Cribbs never accomplished.
• Kent State earned a victory on Homecoming for the first time since a 35-13 win over Buffalo in 2001.
• Senior wideout Najah Pruden has caught a touchdown pass in five of the last six games and moved into sole possession of second place on the KSU career touchdown receptions list with 14.
• Pruden also recorded the 100th catch of his career in the first quarter.
• Kent State held an opponent to 17 points or less for the sixth straight game.
• Junior cornerback Jack Williams interception return for a touchdown was the second of his career, the other being a 99-yard return at Iowa, Sept. 4, 2004... The interception also moved Williams into a tie for 10th place all-time at KSU with nine career picks.
• The Golden Flashes' defense has racked up 23 sacks in its last five games.
• Senior defensive end Daniel Muir had 1.5 sacks, moving into fifth place on the school's all-time list with 14.
• Kent State has victories over the last three MAC Championship game winners in the last month- Miami (2003), Toledo (2004) and Akron (2005).
• The Golden Flashes now have five wins this season, marking the 29th time in 84 seasons of football that Kent State has compiled five or more wins in a season... It also is the 11th time that KSU has posted at least a 5-2 record in the first seven games of the year.
• Kent State's opening score a 26-yard run by Edelman just 1:23 into the game, was the fastest touchdown by a Golden Flash since David Alston scored on a 2-yard run just 1:11 into a contest against Marshall, Oct. 16, 2004.
• The Golden Flashes went over 200 yards rushing for the third time this season, posting a season-high 270 yards.
