Men's Golf Finishes in Eighth Place Tie at Bank of Tennesee at The Ridges

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. -- All five members of the Kent State University men's golf team shot under 75 in the third and final round of the Bank of Tennessee at The Ridges Intercollegiate Sunday (Oct. 15) to lift the Golden Flashes from 11th to an eighth place finish.
Kent State finished the event at 305-296-290--891 (+27), tied with Virginia and ahead of nationally-ranked NC State, TCU and Pepperdine. Tennessee came from behind to edge host East Tennessee State by one stroke to win the team title.
Individually for Kent State, senior Marc Bourgeois was the team's top finisher for the third straight event, finishing in a six-way tie for 13th place. His final round 73 put him at 4-over 220 for the tournament (71-76-73), just one stroke out of ninth place and two behind the eighth place finisher.
Classmate David Markle tied for 28th place at 77-72-74--223 (+7) while sophomore Ben Moser posted the team's low-round for the tournament with a 2-under 70 on Sunday to place tied for 37th overall at 9-over 225 (79-76-70). Rounding out the scoring contingent for KSU were junior Jarrod Page in a tie for 42nd (80-72-74--226, +10) and freshman David Ludlow in a tie for 49th (78-76-73--227, +11).
ETSU's Rhys Davies finished at 5-under 211 for his second straight BOT championship.
The Golden Flashes are next in action at The Club Glove Intercollegiate in Somis, Calif. Oct. 23-24.
