KENT, Ohio -- Co-medalists at the 2006 Mid-American Conference Championship last week (May 4-6) in Indianapolis, Kent State University mens golfers Marc Bourgeois (Dieppe, New Brunswick/Mathieu-Martin) and Tommy Wiegand (Avon Lake, Ohio/St. Ignatius) were named Monday (May 8) to the Academic All-MAC Team.
Bourgeois, a junior sport management major, and Wiegand, a sophomore accounting major, tied for first place at 3-under par 285 in leading the Golden Flashes to their second straight MAC championship and 16th overall. Wiegand shared co-medalist honors at the 2005 MAC Championship and was named Freshman of the Year.
