Kent State Moves Eastern Michigan Football Game to Friday Nov. 17 at 6 p.m.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 18, at 4 p.m., the game created a conflict with a potential mens basketball home game opportunity on the same day, as well as a kickoff time that directly conflicted with the Ohio State-Michigan football game.
The Kent State mens basketball team is now scheduled to open its home schedule on Nov. 18, at Noon against Detroit.
It makes sense for us to move the Eastern Michigan game to Friday night at 6 p.m., Kennedy said. With the mens basketball opportunity we had, the Ohio State-Michigan kick time and significant high school playoff games all on the same day, it was logical to change our football game to a more conducive time for our fans.
Kent State is offering an incentive for fans that journey to Dix Stadium for the Golden Flashes vs. Eastern Michigan. Anyone with a ticket stub from the football game Friday may redeem the ticket for a free general admission seat for the mens basketball game Saturday. The department also is considering offering a barbeque dinner buffet for fans prior to the game in Tailgate Alley.
The full slate of game times for Kent State football this falls is now set with the recent announcement by Temple of a 1 p.m. kickoff between the Golden Flashes and Owls, Oct. 7 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
