Kent State Aims For Two In a Row at Bowling Green Saturday

KENT, Ohio The Kent State University football team aims for its second straight victory when it travels to Bowling Green State University, Saturday, Sept. 23. Game time is 1 p.m. at Perry Stadium.
The Mid-American Conference East Division-leading Golden Flashes square off with one of the teams they are tied with atop the standings, as the Falcons and Ohio University also are 1-0 in the early going. Kent State wraps up a three-game road stretch Saturday at Bowling Green.
FLASH FACTS
• Kent State snapped an 11-game losing streak with a 16-14 win at Miami, KSU's first win in Oxford since 1988.
• Senior wideout Najah Pruden is ninth in the nation in receiving yards per game, averaging 106.7 yards per contest.
•Kent State plays on natural grass this week for the first time since last season's opener at Michigan State.
• Kent State aims to go 2-0 to start conference play for the first time since 2003.
THE OPENING KICKOFF • Kent State wraps up a three-game road swing when it travels to Bowling Green, Ohio, to face the Falcons, Saturday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m., in a game between MAC East Division leaders.

• Doug Martin (Kentucky '85) enters his third season as a head coach, owning a 7-18 record leading the Golden Flashes. He was promoted to head coach March 1, 2004, after serving as the team's offensive coordinator in 2003.
• Gregg Brandon (Northern Colorado '78) is in his fourth season at Bowling Green, owning a 28-12 record with the Falcons.
