Football Adds 26th Signee

KENT, Ohio -- Kent State football coach Doug Martin announced today (Feb. 15) the signing of California linebacker Howard Bowens to a national letter of intent. Bowens, from La Verne, Calif., becomes the 26th member of the 2007 Kent State recruiting class.
Despite missing two games as a senior in 2006, Bowens (6-0, 215 lbs.) earned first-team All-Baseline League honors after recording 100 tackles with six quarterback sacks and two interceptions at Claremont High School. As a juinor, he was named first-team all-league and the Baseline League's Defensive Player of the Year after posting 135 tackles with four sacks and two picks.
