Lawson also praised the performances of both the men's and women's squads as 21 men and 17 women recorded their best efforts of the indoor season at the conference championships. “Obviously, that's music to me and to our coaching staff's ears,” said Lawson. “To be able to have your best performances at the end of the season is a tribute to the coaching staff and to the student-athletes. They have bought into what we were trying to promote and we had outstanding peak performances from several athletes when we needed them. Looking forward, we are trying to build upon and better those performances when we travel to Notre Dame this weekend.”
