Flashes show continued improvement at Akron Quad

Sophomores Sarah McCort finished third in the 1500-meter run, Rachel Crafton was the runner-up in the 400 hurdles and Brittni Borrero finished second in the discus with a throw of 151 feet, 10 inches.
On the men's side, the Golden Flashes finished 1-2 in the 800-meter dash. Tony Jordanek won the event in 1:55.71 and teammate Jesse Armbruster was right behind him, finishing at the 1:56.53 mark. In the 1500-meter run,
In the field events, freshman Jeremy Brading won the pole vault title with a best effort of 16 feet (4.87 meters). John Harper won an individual crown in the discus with a toss of 177 feet 11 inches and Chad Clemons filled in nicely for Rickaby by winning the title in the javelin. Shamel Smith finished second in the high jump.
In Friday night's hammer throw competition, two Golden Flashes notched NCAA Regional marks. Junior Jaroslaw Zakrzewksi won the event with a throw of 201 feet one inch; improving upon his already-earned NCAA mark. Harper finished fourth and set a new personal best throw of 185 feet.
