Men's golf sits in 15th place heading into final round of National Invitational Tournament

TUSCON, Ariz. The Kent State University men's golf team totaled consecutive rounds of 592 on Monday (April 2) to place itself at 16-over par and in 15th place at the 2007 National Invitational Tournament.
The Golden Flashes have some ground to make up in the final round, which gets under way at 7:30 a.m. PDT on Tuesday (April 3) at the Omni Tuscon National Golf Club. Kent State sits in last place and trails 14th-place Pepperdine University by four strokes.
The University of Tulsa leads the pack after two rounds, compiling a score of 564, good enough for 12-under par.
Tulsa is also leading the way individually, as Ryan Henry fired a 136 to push himself three strokes ahead of the competition.
For Kent State, sophomore Peter Ahn shot a first-round score of 72 one stoke shy of his season low and finished the day one-over par with a total score of 145 to tie for 24th place.
Tom Ballinger also opened with a score of 72, but shooting two strokes worse put the junior at 146 and in a tie for 34th.
By improving by two strokes in the second round, junior Tommy Wiegand tied for 63rd by finishing six-over par with a total score of 150.
Senior Marc Bourgeois also upped his standing by shooting a 75 in the second round for a one-stroke improvement. The 2006 Mid-American Conference Co-Medalist finished the first day with a score of 151, tying him for 66th place.
Freshman David Ludlow tied for 71st place to round out the KSU contingent. Ludlow finished at eight-over par with a score of 152.
