Chris Caine- Kent State Athlete of the Week

Kent State senior decathlete Chris Caine (Munroe Falls, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit H.S.) has been named Kent State Athlete of the Week after reaching All-American status at the NCAA Championships on June 7.
Caine recorded a career-high 7,394 points at the national meet in Sacramento and finished in eighth place. He also reached career best marks in the 1,500 meters (4:24.51), the 110-meter hurdles (14.55) and the javelin (164'0).
Departing Kent State as a four-time MAC champion in his 10-event specialty, Caine also won the decathlon at the All-Ohio Championships. He qualified for the NCAA Championships after finishing seventh at the Texas Relays.
Excelling in the classroom as well, Caine was one of four Golden Flashes named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference Team.
