WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Led by three top 10 finishes the Kent State University men's golf team placed third with an eight over 296 at today's Midwest Shootout hosted by Purdue University at the Boilermaker's Kampen course. The weather was the story of the day at the Shootout as thunderstorms caused suspension of play that lasted over an hour and limited the event from 36 holes to just a single round.

Hahn shot a 36 on the front before a back nine of 37 while Markle had a team low 35 on the front before a back nine of 38. Senior Tom Ballinger (Mansfield, Ohio / Mansfield St. Peter's) was one stroke behind with a round of 74 (38-36) to place in a tie for 10th overall.
Freshman Brett Caims (Courtland, Ontario) rounded out the scoring for the Golden Flashes with a round of 76 going out with a 36 and coming in with a 40 on the back. Also competing on the day for KSU were senior Tommy Wiegand (Avon, Lake, Ohio / St. Iqnatius), who carded an 83, and Jean-Phillipe Paieement (Des Ruisseaux, Quebec) who shot a 77 as an individual.
