Dix Stadium Renovations On Schedule

KENT, Ohio - Work on Phase II of the renovations at Dix Stadium continues to remain on schedule for a mid- to late- August completion date.
The new high-definition scoreboard has been installed with only the wiring left to be completed. In addition, most of the brickwork on the entryways and columns is nearly done, while the concessions equipment and asphalt are slated for installation within the next week. Meanwhile, the Varsity “K” Room which is located under the north stands, is getting a new look as part of the renovations.
“All the crews are working diligently to have the stadium complete in time for the upcoming season,” KSU Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Operations Andre Seoldo said. “If you haven't been by the stadium recently you almost won't recognize it. We believe our fans will be pleasantly surprised when they come out to see the Golden Flashes in action this year.”
Kent State opens the home portion of its schedule Saturday, Sept. 13 with a Heroes' Day game against Delaware State at 2:00 p.m. The contest will feature a tribute to the passengers and crew of United Flight 93 while also honoring members of the armed forces as well as local police, fire and rescue squads.
