Lashaway Tabbed as Kent State Athlete of the Week

Fifth-year senior grappler Drew Lashaway (Bowling Green, Ohio/Eastwood) was named the Kent State Athlete of the Week on Jan. 5 for his success this weekend at the Ohio State Dual. This weekend in Columbus, the Golden Flashes battled back from a 10-0 deficit to take a 15-13 lead but fell short to the Buckeyes 20-15.
In the match at 141 pounds against J. Jaggers of Ohio State, Lashaway built a 4-0 lead before a first-period pin of the returning national champion.
Kent State returns to action this weekend when it travels to Hampton for the annual Virginia Duals Jan. 9-10.
