Flashes Capture Three MAC Athlete of the Week Honors after Golden Flash Gala

Junior Destin Heasley was named MAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week after he won the 800 meters with a time of 1:50.59, three seconds faster than this time last season and just 0.09 seconds away from a provisionally qualifying mark. He was also on the winning 4x400 relay team that claimed the top spot with a time of 3:15.99.
Sophomore Dean Wood was named MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after provisionally qualifying for the NCAA Championships in the high jump. He cleared 7'-0.75", the first time in the United States he has cleared the 7' mark.
Finally, sophomore Diana Dumitrescu was named MAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week. This weekend, she won the long jump with a distance of 19'0.50" and finished third in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5'-6".
The Kent State indoor track and field teams will have more than a month off before returning to competition Jan. 16 at the Doug Raymond Invitational in the Kent State Field House. The unscored meet is set to begin at 10 a.m.
