Bryson Named MAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Kent State freshman Princeton Bryson (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) was selected as the Mid-American Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week for his performance last Saturday (2/14) at the Tyson Invitational hosted by the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Bryson ran the second-fastest time in school history in the indoor 200 meters when he crossed the finish line in 21.35 to finish ninth overall. Bryson's time moved him in front of 1984 United States Olympian, Thomas Jefferson, who ran a 21.37 for the Golden Flashes in 1985. Bobby Cruse established the Golden Flashes' school record with a time of 20.79 in 2000. Six of the eight runners who finished ahead of Bryson are currently ranked in the top 20 in the 200 meters for NCAA Division I.

Kent State will host the Kent State Tune-Up on Saturday (2/21) at the Kent State Fieldhouse.
