Kent State Track & Field Sweeps MAC Men's Weekly Awards as Conference Recognizes Agee, Heasley

CLEVELAND -- Kent State senior Destin Heasley (Massillon, Ohio) received Mid-American Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors while sophomore Kenneth Agee (Shaker Heights, Ohio) took MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week recognition, as announced by the conference office today (Feb. 22).
Heasley won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:49.70 last Saturday (Feb. 19) at the Kent State Tune Up. That time currently ranks as the 30th fastest in the nation this season.
Agee placed second in the high jump at the Kent State Tune Up and matched his career best with a jump of 7'-0.25" (2.14m). That mark currently ranks second in the conference and 30th in the nation.
Heasley and Agee bring Kent State's MAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week total to five different student-athletes winning a total of six times.
The Golden Flashes will head to Bowling Green, Ohio, this weekend (Feb. 25-26) to compete in the 2011 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships at Perry Field House.
