No. 18 Men's Golf Looks To Continue Spring Success At Boilermaker Invitational

No. 18/21 Kent State has its eyes set on a third straight tournament title as the team returns to Purdue's Kampen Course this weekend for the first time since finishing sixth at the 2008 NCAA National Championship. The Golden Flashes will be part of a 15-team in the Boilermaker Invitational that takes place On Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to its 2008 NCAA Championship finish, Kent State also claimed the Boilmermaker Invitational title that same spring shooting a 54-hole total of 842 (284-285-273).
The Golden Flashes are coming off back-to-back tournament wins claiming a one shot victory at the 43rd annual Robert Kepler Intercollegiate at Ohio State last weekend and a 27-shot win in the Irish Creek Collegiate Mar. 30 - April 1 in Charlottle, N.C.
The Kampen Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Ind. will play as a par 72, 7,465-yard layout this weekennd. Play begins with 36 holes starting with a 8:45 a.m. ET shotgun start on Saturday followed by an 8:45 a.m. ET start on Sunday with tee times off front and back nine.

Representing the Golden Flashes in the count-four format this week are senior Mackenzie Hughes, junior Kevin Miller, and sophomores Taylor Pendrith, Corey Conners, Kyle Kmiecik.
The Field
The Golden Flashes will go up against 14 teams including Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, IUPUI, Michigan State, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Purdue, TCU, Toledo, Wichita State.
