Men's Golf Preps For NCAA Championship With Monday Practice Round

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Day one at Riviera Country Club is officially in the books for No. 16 Kent State men's golf. The Golden Flashes had their first look at the renowned course with a practice round on Monday morning.

Home to the PGA Tour's Northern Trust Open every February, the course features fairways made of a sponge-like kikuyu grass. Kent State began the day with a 7:00 a.m. tee time and navigated the par 71, 7,292-yard layout in just under five hours.

The Golden Flashes are seeded 16 amongst the 30-team field, and will be pair with Florida and Florida State for the first two rounds.

Tomorrow will be another early day for Kent State which begins first round action for the 115th Championship at 7:00 a.m.
