Hughes and Conners Move On To U.S. Amateur Match Play

Cherry Hills Village, Colo - Two Kent State golfers have advanced to the round of 64 match-play scoring tree at the 112th edition of the U.S. Amateur this week.
Recent Kent State graduate and two-time Canadian Amateur Champion Mackenzie Hughes completed stroke play tied for tied for 19th with a 1-under, 140 (71-69). Earning the 22nd seed in the bracket his first round match-up comes against fellow Team Canada team member Albin Choi of N.C. State. The match is scheduled to begin at 9:20 am MST.
Rising Kent State junior Corey Conners, tied for 39th with a 1-over, 142 (67-75). The 48th seed he is match up against Max Homa, a senior to be at Cal. The match is scheduled for an 8:20 am MST start time.

Juniors to be Taylor Pendrith and Kyle Kmiecik and competed at the U.S. Amateur this week, but did not advance.
