Second straight 290 has Golden Flashes tied for 12th
ATLANTA, Ga. — The upperclassmen trio of Taylor Pendrith (Richmond Hill, Ontario), Corey Conners (Listowel, Ontario) and Kevin Miller (Dover, Ohio) are leading the way for No. 13 Kent State at the PING/Golfweek Preview. Posting a combined 4-over par, the group highlighted a second round 290 (+10) for the Golden Flashes on Tuesday.
The second round total leaves Kent State at 20-over (580) and tied for 12th in the tournament that features 14 schools listed among the Golfweek's pre-season top 25.
Pendrith's second straight 71 (+1) on the par 70 course came by way of four birdies, three bogeys and a double-bogey. Sitting at 2-over (142) the junior is tied for 15th overall. Conners' also shot a 71 (+1) today carding two birdies and three bogeys. Along with yesterday's 73, his 144 has him tied for 29th.
Miller is tied for 29th as well as he shot a 72 (+2) for the second straight day. In today's round the senior posted two birdies against four bogeys.
The Golden Flashes final counter on Tuesday came from sophomore Nick Scott (Union, Ohio) who had a 76 (+6). Sophomore Taylor Zoller (Charleston, S.C.) rounded out the Golden Flashes line-up with a 8-over 78.
Final round action begins at 8:50 am for the Kent State. The Golden Flashes will be matched with Florida State and Chattanooga.
