Kent State's Oczypok Tabbed to Capital One Academic All-District; Second Team

Senior javelin thrower tabbed to Academic All-District Second Team for second straight year.
2013 Capital One Academic All-District® Release
TOWSON, Md. – Senior Sara Oczypok, a javelin thrower on the Kent State women's outdoor track and field team, was named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District® Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team for District V on Thursday (May 30), as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
This is the second consecutive Academic All-District® Second Team honor for Oczypok, who earned her degree in exercise physiology in May and finished her academic career with a 3.95 cumulative GPA.
In competition, Oczypok repeated as the Mid-American Conference's champion in the javelin with a mark of 156'-05", which ranks eighth in Kent State history. A week ago, she competed at the NCAA East Preliminary Round for the third time of her career.
Oczypok, who placed 24th at 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, earned her third Academic All-MAC selection on Thursday. She finished her career with six victories in the javelin.
