Marsh Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

CLEVELAND – Kent State junior Caleb Marsh (Marysville, Ohio) was named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week Wednesday after going 4-0 at the Virginia Duals this past weekend inside Hampton Coliseum. Marsh helped the Golden Flashes place fourth at the dual tournament, which included a 27-12 victory over No. 22 Bloomsburg.

Marsh defeated two higher ranked opponents, including a 3-2 upset of No. 10 Steve Doty (Virginia). He earned a 3-1 decision over No. 18 Mike Dessino (Bloomsburg), a convincing 11-4 decision over John Dickson (Virginia Tech) and a 4-0 shutout of Terrell Forbes (Citadel).

The Flashes' 174-pounder improved to 10-5 on the season and 9-3 in duals. Marsh was ranked No. 25 in this week's WrestlingReport.com poll.

Kent State (7-6, 2-0) returns to action Sunday at the M.A.C. Center as both the wrestling and gymnastics teams host North Carolina State in a special Beauty and the Beast event at 2 p.m.
