Indoor Track and Field Hosts Kent State Tune Up Saturday

The Golden Flashes return home to host the Kent State Tune Up Saturday, February 22 in the Kent State Field House starting at 9 a.m.
Kent State returns home for the first time since January 17 as they gear up to head into the Mid-American Conference championships, February 28 and March 1 in Kent.
The Flashes' most recent appearance was at last weekends Fred Wilt Invitational at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. on Saturday, February 15.
Overall, Kent State had five athletes take first in events led by Ann Marie Duffus who had a first place finish in both the long jump (6.02m – 19' 9.00") and the 60m hurdles (8.32). Wrapping up the women's side of first places, Roseanne Erickson took the number one spot with a 24.79 200m dash.
On the men's side, Jesse Oxley, William Barnes and Jailyn Twitty each took first in their events, Pole Vault, 60m hurdles and triple jump, respectively. Oxley had a height of 5.11m (16' 9.25") as Barnes flew across the finish line in 7.88. Twitty had a jump of 14.88m (48' 10").
Kent State remains at home after the season finale as they host the 2014 Indoor Track and Field Mid-American Conference Championships which take place next week, Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 in the Kent State Field House. The Fist day of events are slated to start at 10 a.m. with the men's heptathlon 60m hurdles and the women's weight throw finals.
