Gymnastics Closes Out Regular Season in Pittsburgh Saturday

Kent State's gymnastics team closes out the regular season with a trip to Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on Pittsburgh and Centenary Saturday, March 15 at 7 p.m.

Kent State … 9-3
The Golden Flashes enter the tri-meet after defeating Bowling Green, to end the Mid-American Conference portion of their schedule at 6-0 to win the regular season title. Kent State won 196.225-195.925, with setting their new season high at 196.225 and had a season high 49.475 on the floor.
Kent State was led by MAC Gymnast of the week, Marie Case as she landed career-bests 39.600 on the All-Around and a 9.975 on the floor. Chelsea Drooger took second on the vault with a 9.850 with Case tied for third, 9.825. Case tied for first on the bars, 9.925, and on the balance beam with a 9.875. On the floor, Case took first, 9.975, as Samantha Gordon and Jordan Hardison both tied for second with personal best of 9.900.
Pittsburgh … 8-6
The Panthers enter the weekend meet after taking second in a tri-meet with North Carolina and Maryland. Pittsburgh scored a 194.350, as they were led by Maebelle Pacheco and Brittney Harris who took first (9.875) and second (9.850), respectively on vault.
Harris who finished third in the all-around with a 39.075, took second on the uneven bars with a 9.850 with Maya Ketner in third with a 9.825. The Panthers swept the top three on the floor with Katie O'Rourke in first, 9.875, Lindsay Offutt took second, 9.825, and Haley Bodenheimer in third with a 9.800.
Centenary … 1-9
The Ladies come in after a third place finish at a tri-meet with Kentucky and California at Berkley with a score of 189.525. Robyn Price was the top performer for Centenary with a fourth place finish in the all-around with a 38.575. She took seventh on the beam, 9.700, 11th on vault with a 9.750, and 13th on the bars with a 9.475 .
The Matchups …
This will be the first matchup for the Golden Flashes against Centenary since 1981, the Ladies had the 3-0 advantage on Kent State before 1981. The Flashes hold the 19-12 all-time series over the Panthers with Pittsburgh taking the last meeting on Jan. 6, 2010 in Pittsburgh, Pa. 192.550-190.625.
