YPSILANTI, Mich. – Kent State's (14-10, 4-2) offense struggled in the finale with Eastern Michigan (10-13, 1-5) on Sunday (Mar. 30), as they were only able to get three hits in the game, falling short of a weekend sweep with a 2-1 loss.
Â
The Golden Flashes were able to score early with a run in the 1st after an Alex Miklos triple and a base hit from Justin Wagler, but the Eagles were able to answer back and tie the game at one in the bottom of the inning.
Â
Eastern Michigan broke the tie in the 7th on a double, bunt single and RBI groundout that ultimately won the game.
Â
Brian Clark (2-5) pitched well in the start. He went 6.1 innings with five hits, two runs, one walk and four strikeouts. Eric Dorsch remained dominant in relief with no hits and one strikeout in 1.2 shutout innings.
Â
Kent State returns home to Schoonover Stadium on Tuesday (Apr. 1) when they host a doubleheader against Oakland. Both games will be seven-innings with the first pitch coming at 2:00pm.
