Gymnastics Hosts Bowling Green for Senior Night Thursday

Kent State gymnatics hosts Bowling Green on Thursday, March 6 at 7 p.m. in the M.A.C. Center as part of senior night. The Golden Flashes will recognize seniors Marie Case, Nikki Moore and Ashley Transue.

The Seniors โฆ
Marie Case โ Case is a four-time letter winner and a two-time Academic All-Conference. She was part of the 2011 team that competed at the NCAA Championships, on her way to being named 2011 MAC Freshman of the Year. Case was named 2012 MAC Gymnast of the Year and was a part of the 2013 MAC Regular season champions' team. Case repeated her 2012 award of MAC Gymnast of the year in 2013 as she was named Co-MAC Gymnast of the Year for her second consecutive season. Case was the 2013 MAC Champion in the All-Around with a score of 39.250 at the MAC Championships. She was a 2011 and 2012 Second Team All-Conference while making first team in 2013.
Case has been named MAC Gymnast of the week 12 times in her four-year career and has competed in every meet all four years. She is in the Kent State Record Book 12 times while she has recorded career highs of 9.850, four times, on Vault, 9.875, two times, on bars, 9.925, four times, on beam and 9.950 on the floor. She has recorded a career-high 39.475 on the All-Around this season while her career point total is 1,494.700.
Nikki Moore โ Moore, a two-time letter winner, was part of the 2011 team that made it to the NCAA Championships. She was on the 2013 team that won the MAC regular season and has a career point total of 317.450. Moore has recorded career-highs of 9.825, two times, on vault, 9.800, two times, on beam and 9.775 on the floor.
Ashley Transue โ Transue is a two-time letter winner who was named to the 2012 National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches / Women Scholastic All-America. She was part of the 2011 team that went to the NCAA Championships and part of the 2013 team that won the MAC regular season title. Transue recorded a career-high of 9.800 on the bars while having a career-point total of 57.375.
Kent State โฆ 8-3, 5-0 MAC
The Golden Flashes enter the last home meet, and the last conference meet after falling to No. 8 Michigan and Brigham Young on Friday, Feb. 28 in Ann Arbor. Michigan scored 197.200 as BYU had 195.325 while Kent State recorded 194.275.
Kent State already has a share of the regular season title, with a win against Bowling Green, the Golden Flashes would own the MAC regular season title outright.
Bowling Green โฆ 7-6, 4-1 MAC
The Falcons dropped their previous meet at Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas on March 1st, 194.250-193.325, as Bowling Green's last conference win came against Northern Illinois on Feb. 23rd, 194.825-193.075.

This will be the 90th meeting between the Flashes and the Falcons. Kent State holds the 70-19 advantage in the all-time series with a 30 meet win streak against Bowling Green. The Golden Flashes last lost to the Falcons on Feb. 17, 2002 in Kent 195.125-194.350.
