Kent State Set to Battle With Buffalo This Weekend

GAME NOTES
Kent State (23-12, 9-3 MAC) will look to make a move in the Mid-American Conference standings this weekend when they host fellow MAC East member Buffalo (16-12, 7-4 MAC) for a three-game set this weekend.
The two teams will face off Friday and Saturday at 6:00pm and Sunday at 1:00pm at Schoonover Stadium. Friday will be Greek Night at the ballpark. Sorrority and fraternity members can check in at the game and the organization with the most attendees will win a prize.

KENT STATE - BUFFALO HISTORY
• Kent State is 40-5 all-time against Buffalo.
• Last season the Golden Flashes were swept in Buffalo by the Bulls in three one-run games.
• Since the two teams began facing each other in 2001, Kent State has swept Buffalo in nine seasons.
• In the 2001 series, the Golden Flashes won 3 out of 4 and then took 2 out of 3 in 2006.
• Prior to last season, the only other series the Bulls have won was in 2009 when they took 2 out of 3 at home.

• Zarley Zalewski currently ranks 15th in batting average and 22nd in hits.
• On the mound, freshman Eric Lauer ranks 10th in the nation in victories, 13th in hits allowed per nine innings and 17th in WHIP.
CONFERENCE-ONLY STATS
• Some Golden Flashes have performed far above their conference counterparts in MAC games this year.
• In 12 games, Alex Miklos's .510 league-leading batting average is 34 points above the second-best. He also leads in hits, total bases and slugging percentage. He has four more hits and nine more total bases than the second-place spot. His .816 slugging percentage is a whopping 170 points above the next best through 12 conference games.
• Eric Lauer's miniscule 0.75 in four MAC starts leads the conference. Brian Clark is in second place behind him with a 1.85.
• Sawyer Polen has heated up against conference opponents. He is currently 2nd in doubles and 5th in RBI through 12 games.
PARKING MODIFICATIONS
• Due to on-going construction and high ticket demand for Kent State baseball, auxiliary parking and shuttle service options will be available for all remaining home games to help alleviate parking congestion surrounding the stadium.
• The shuttle service to transport fans to and from Schoonover Stadium will run continuously from 90 minutes prior to first pitch until 30 minutes following the end of the game.
• Kent State Athletics personnel will be located at the Allerton and auxiliary parking lots to guide all fans to the shuttle service.
• Limited parking spaces are available in the new lot west of Schoonover Stadium.
