KENT, Ohio – Kent State's (24-13, 10-4) offense rebounded nicely on Saturday (Apr. 19), breaking out for eight runs on 13 hits to beat Buffalo (17-13, 8-5) 8-4.

"I thought we bounced back really well today," said Head Coach Jeff Duncan. "It was good to see and fun to watch."

Both teams scored in the first inning, but Kent State broke that tie soon after in the 3^rd with two runs on a RBI double by Alex Miklos and a RBI base hit by Zarley Zalewski.

The Bulls inched closer with a run in the 4^th but the Golden Flashes kept them at bay with a three-run 5^th. In the frame, Zalewski picked up another RBI on a base hit. Jeff Revesz then doubled Zalewski home before Revesz himself scored on a single by Zach Beckner.

After Buffalo brought the game close once again with a two-run 7^th, Kent State continued to respond with a run in both the 7^th and the 8^th. The 7^th tally came on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jon Wilson while the 8^th and final run of the night came on behalf of a RBI single by Revesz.

Nick Jensen-Clagg was awarded his fourth win of the season after throwing 6.1 innings in the start with five hits, three earned runs, three walks and six strikeouts. John Fasola followed him with 1.1 innings of work with two hits, two walks and one strikeout. Eric Dorsch came in the game to get two outs on his first three pitches thrown. He grabbed his seventh save of the season after 1.1 innings with one hit and one strikeout.

Both Miklos and Zalewski went 3-for-4 on the night. Two of Miklos's hits were for extra bases, as he led off the night with a triple and added on a double. Zalewski and Revesz led the team with two RBI.

"All together I thought our offense played outstanding," Duncan said. "One through nine, everybody contributed and that's what we needed to do today and we'll need the same tomorrow."

The rubber match between Kent State and Buffalo is set for 1:00pm on Sunday (Apr. 20) at Schoonover Stadium. The game can be heard live on Golden Flashes iHeart Radio.
