Volleyball Assists with Bridge Program

The Kent State volleyball team assisted in feeding the homeless last week as part of the Bridge Project.

Members of the team spent time at the Beall Hall Kitchen on Thursday evening helping prepare the meals. Then on the Friday, the team helped serve the meals to the homeless under the Y-Bridge in Akron. The Golden Flashes also spent time socializing with those receiving the meals.

"It was really cool to serve food to them and also to have a chance to talk to them and see what their lives are like, what their interests are and get an idea of what they do everyday," said junior Liz Reikow. "We have a lot of people come to our games and support our team, so it felt good to give back and support other people."
