Conners Takes Over Lead at Canadian Amateur

WINNIPEG, Manitoba – Recent Kent State University graduate, Corey Conners, has moved up from third to first in today's 18-hole round at the Canadian Men's Amateur Championship at Elmhurst Golf & Country Club.
Conners, who sat in a three-way tie for third yesterday with a six-under par, carded seven birdies today to go two-under and take over the lead. The Listowel, Ontario, native is now eight-under par (68-68-68=204) heading into the final round of play tomorrow. Sam Saunders of Albuquerque, N.M., is one stroke back (-7) in second place and Brian Bullington of Frankfort, Ill., is in third with a 6-under.
Former Kent State teammate and Richmond Hill native, Taylor Pendrith, also moved up the leaderboard today. In a tie for 22nd yesterday, Pendrith is now in 13th with a two-under par (69-73-68=210). Pendrith birdied five of the first nine holes in today's round, but carded just one birdie and had three bogeys on the back to finish the third round two-under.

The champion of the Canadian Amateur will earn an exemption into the 2015 RBC Canadian Open and 2014 US Amateur.
