Kent State Falls to Hot-Shooting Ball State 85-47

MUNCIE, Ind. – Kent State (3-12, 1-3) fell to a hot-shooting Ball State (8-7, 4-0) at Worthen Arena Wednesday by a score of 85-47.
Turnovers hurt the Golden Flashes in the opening twenty minutes, and the Cardinals shooting 55.2% didn't help matters. Kent State committed 11 turnovers while Ball State made 10-of-27 from the floor to lead 40-22 at the half. 16 of Ball State's 40 came off turnovers.
In the second half, Ball State had success from three-point range, making six from deep on ten attempts en route to the 85-47 victory.
In the end, the Golden Flashes finished with 23 turnovers that resulted in 28 Cardinal points. Kent State won the rebound battle 38-34.
CiCi Shannon and Krista White both had a team-high ten points on the night. Shannon recorded her second-straight double-double by adding in 11 rebounds. She also had two blocks and two steals.
Kent State will remain on the road and play Northern Illinois Saturday at 2 p.m. EST. The Golden Flashes return to the M.A.C. Center Saturday, Jan. 24 to face Western Michigan in a 2 p.m. tip.
