Onken and Slingluff Pace Cross Country at Princeton Invite Saturday

PRINCETON, New Jersey – Kent State's cross country teams were led by Grant Onken and Rachel Slingluff at the Princeton Invite on Saturday, October 17th as the women's team took 15th out of 24 teams and the men's team took 16th out of 21 teams.
Slingluff placed 10th out of 206 runners in a time of 21:26.1 to lead the women's team in the 6K race as the Golden Flashes finished with 410 total points.
Grant Onken paced the men's team with a 45th place finish out of 181 runners on the 8K course in a time of 25:00.8. Kent State's men's team finished with 400 total points on the day.
Finishing behind Slingluff were Taylor Wickey (92nd – 23:28.7), Emily Henry (101st – 23:37.0), Morgan Bing (102nd – 23:39.7) and Brigid Callaghan (105th – 23:43.9).
Behind Onken in the men's race were Mitchell Grose (75th – 25:25.2), Kyle Brooks (92st – 25:42.4), Samuel Allen (103rd – 25:45.1) and Nick Schank (106th – 25:47.4).
Next up for the Flashes cross country teams is the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday, October 31st at Glen Oak high school in Canton, Ohio, hosted by the University of Akron.
