CEDARVILLE, Ohio – Kent State's cross country teams ran at the All-Ohio Championships Friday, October 2nd at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course hosted by Cedarville University. Rachel Slingluff leads the way for the Golden Flashes as the top placer, taking ninth overall and sixth in division I.
The men's team ran first and finished in eighth place out of the 10 teams with a total of 244 points in a total time of 2:09:58 behind Kyle Brooks' 40th place finish. Brooks crossed the finish line in a time of 25:44.32 to lead the pack.
Grant Onken joined Brooks in the top-50, out of 117 runners, with a 47th place finished at 25:49.07.
The women's race kicked off a 2:45pm and saw the Golden Flashes finished in sixth place out of the 11 teams competing. Kent State had a total of 192 points and finished as a team in a total of 1:55:33. Rachel Slingluff led the way again for the Golden Flashes as she took ninth overall out of all Division I, II, III and NAIA. Slingluff took sixth in the D1 results with a time of 21:51.29.
Hannah Fleck finished inside the top-35 as she took 35th, out of the 129 runners, for a time of 22:57.69.
Following a week off from action, Kent State's cross country teams will travel to New Jersey for the Princeton Invite on Saturday, October 17th.
