Women's basketball will host Minnesota in the first game of a doubleheader with the men's team on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the M.A.C. Center.

The Matchup
• The two teams have met just once before with Minnesota taking the contest by a score of 70-67. That game was played in 2006 at a neutral site
• The Golden Gophers are 2-0 this season after wins over Wofford and Maine. The team reached the 90-point mark in each of those contests
• Minnesota is led by Rachel Banham who is averaging 26 points a game to start the season

• Kent State will play just three non-conference games on the road this season, with the majority of the first half played in the friendly confines of the M.A.C. Center

• Kent State has made its presence known in the community during this past summer and fall
• This summer, the team averaged two hours a week volunteering at various places across the local area, including preparing meals at the Center for Hope in Ravenna and spending time with the residents at Kent Ridge
• The team was honored as Friend of the Kent Schools by the Board of Education for its dedication and hours spent with students at Davey Elementary
