Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Greg Glaus has been promoted to the position of Associate Athletic Director for Academic and Compliance Services, as announced by Kent State University Director of Athletics Joel Nielsen.
"Greg has been a tremendous asset to our department for the last eight years," said Nielsen. "He's experienced in our student services area and is fully qualified to accept this new challenge."
Glaus started his career at Kent State University in 2006 as a college office academic advising graduate assistant. In 2007, he started full-time as the primary athletic academic counselor for the football, baseball, volleyball and men's golf teams. During his tenure in academic services, Glaus worked his way up to be the assistant director of academic services and in 2010 he made the transition into NCAA compliance as the assistant director for compliance. In 2012, Glaus was then promoted to assistant athletic director for compliance.
"I would like to thank Joel Nielsen for the opportunity to continue to serve our student-athletes and coaches in this leadership role," said Glaus. "His dedication and vision for our student-athletes' holistic success rivals any program in the country and I am grateful to be able to assist this department in developing well-rounded students and citizens. We have an exceptional staff in place and the academic progress of our student-athletes will continue to be our number one priority."
A native of Barberton, Ohio, Glaus earned his B.S. Ed degree in health & physical education as an honors scholar from Wright State University in 2005 where he was a member of the baseball program. He earned his M. Ed degree in 2009 from Kent State University in higher education administration and is currently pursuing his doctorate in the same field. Greg and his wife, Amie, reside in Silver Lake with their two daughters, Grace and Claire.
