Gymnastics Comes Up Short vs. Central Michigan Sunday

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State gymnastics team fell to Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan, 196.400-195.325, on Sunday, February 15 inside the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
The Golden Flashes (2-5, 1-3 MAC) had team scores of 48.425 (vault), 48.850 (bars), 48.700 (beam), and 49.350 (floor) for their 195.325 total.
The Chippewas (7-3, 3-1 MAC) found themselves with scores of 48.900 (vault), 49.125 (bars), 49.075 (beam), and 49.300 (floor) to reach their final 196.400 score.
The Flashes saw Brooke Timko and Rachel Stypinski come away with first place victories on the day.
Timko tied for first on vault with a 9.850, while Chelsea Drooger took fifth at 9.750.
Rachel Stypinski took first place on the floor exercise and set a personal best record with a score of 9.950. On beam, Stypinski tied for first with a 9.900.
Ali Marrero also placed in fifth on the beam, with a 9.775 total.
Skylee Lamano and Jordan Hardison tied for third on the floor exercise with a total of 9.875. This score set a personal best record for Lamano on this event.
Rebecca Osmer led the Flashes on uneven bars with a score of 9.800, which placed her in third.
Kent State travels to Raleigh, N.C. to take on Rutgers University, North Carolina State, and University of North Carolina, starting at 7pm on Friday, February 20th.
