Gymnastics Rounds Out the Regular Season in BG Saturday

The Golden Flashes will travel to Bowling Green to take on the Falcons on Saturday, March 14th at 4:00 p.m. This is the regular season and Mid-American Conference finale for both schools as they gear up for the MAC Championships, which Kent State will host on March 21st at 2:00 p.m.

The Golden Flashes (6-6, 2-3 MAC) are coming off a record setting 196.800-195.500 win over Ball State last Sunday in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center. The score was the fourth highest team score in school history, as Kent State also recorded the fifth highest floor routine score in school history (49.550).
The Flashes took first place in all four rotations with Chelsea Drooger on vault (9.850), Ali Marrero on bars (9.900), Rachel Stypinski on beam (9.900) and Jordan Hardison and Rachel Stypinski on floor (9.950).
Kent State had the top five placers on the bars. Following Marrero was Rebecca Osmer (9.875), Michaela Romito (9.825), Brooke Timko (9.825), and Chelsea Drooger (9.800).
The Flashes honored seniors Chelsea Drooger, Whitnee Johnson, Kelsey Lawless, Amiah Mims and Nicole Radon as part of Senior Day festivities.
Bowling Green …
The Falcons (7-8, 1-4 MAC) went 2-1 as part of a quad meet against Michigan State, Arizona, and Eastern Michigan.
Bowling Green's 195.225 score was good enough for wins over No. 23 Michigan State (194.350) and Eastern Michigan (195.225). The No. 19 Arizona Wildcats won the quad with a score of 195.450.
Lauren Feeley finished fourth on vault (9.850), Caroline Ellingboe fifth on bars (9.825), Laura Mitchell sixth on beam (9.800) and Alysaa Nocella seventh on floor (9.800).

Kent State has dominated the Falcons with a 72-19 overall record. The last time the Falcons recorded a win against the Flashes dates back to February 17th, 2002. Kent State has won the previous 32 meetings; including the regular season win last year, 196.225-195.925 in Kent. The Flashes also defeated Bowling Green in last years MAC Championships with a score of 195.125-194.625.
